The two communities are split by Deerfoot Trail, Douglasdale lying on south side and being the larger of the two. The community is bounded in the south by 130 Ave SE and the community of McKenzie Town. On the north it is bounded by the community of Quarry Park. On the west is the Bow River, and on the east is South Foothills.
